More Instacart Credits: $10 or $20 Monthly with Mastercard

Instacart shopping cart with Mastercard payment option displayed

I was already stacking Chase card credits on my Instacart orders when I noticed another promo sitting there — this one from Mastercard. If you have an eligible Mastercard, you can get a monthly credit toward your grocery deliveries through the end of January 2027. It’s not flashy, but it adds up.

How the Mastercard Instacart Credit Works

The offer gives you $10 per month with any eligible personal Mastercard or $20 per month with an eligible small business Mastercard. You also get 3 months of free Instacart+ membership.

The credit applies to your second order each month, which is different from the Chase credits that apply to your first order. That detail matters — it means these two can stack on the same order for up to $30 total in monthly credits.

What I Learned Testing This Credit

I put this through a few trial runs, and here’s what worked (and what didn’t):

  • Pick one card. You can only enroll one Mastercard per Instacart account. If you have both a business and personal card, go with the business one for the $20 credit instead of $10.
  • The email may not match what’s on your screen. I got an email offering $10, but when I clicked through my default payment method was a small business Mastercard — so the offer upgraded to $20 automatically. Worth checking before you confirm.
  • You don’t need Instacart Business. The signup flow may prompt you for it, but you can skip that step and still redeem the credits on a personal account.
  • Set a cancel reminder. If you don’t plan to keep Instacart+ after the 3-month promo ends, mark your calendar. It auto-renews.
  • Payment method matters — sort of. The terms say to select your Mastercard as payment for both your first and second order. In my testing, the credit still triggered even when I paid with Cart Cash from Instacart gift cards. Bonus: you can often find discounted Instacart gift cards at Best Buy, and some cards (like the UPromise Mastercard) give up to 20% cash back on purchasing them.

Does It Stack?

Yes — at least with Chase credits. If your eligible business Mastercard is also enrolled for the Chase Instacart offer, you can effectively get $30 in credits ($10 from Mastercard + $20 from Chase) on one order.

I haven’t tested it against the Costco Executive Same Day credit yet, but that seems likely to stack as well. I’ll update if I find out.

Worth It?

Yes — if you shop Instacart regularly. $10 or $20 a month toward your second order is solid, especially stacked with Chase for up to $30 total. The 3 months free Instacart+ is a nice bonus on top. Just remember: enroll the business card if you have one, and set that cancel reminder.

FAQ

When does the credit expire?

The monthly credits run through January 31, 2027.

Can I use both a business and personal Mastercard for this offer?

No. The terms state the offer is valid for only one eligible Mastercard per Instacart account. Pick whichever gives you the higher credit.

Do I need to pay with the Mastercard each time?

The terms say yes, but in my testing the credit triggered even when I paid with Cart Cash from Instacart gift cards. Your mileage may vary.

A note from Dana: I’m still working out which delivery app credits are worth keeping track of and which ones I should just let expire. This Mastercard one feels like finding a coupon in your wallet that you forgot was there — easy enough to use, and it pays off. Deal’s live through January 2027 if you want to give it a shot.
